There is a new lie in market these days that Guru Nanak went to Jagannath Temple, Puri and worshipped / did aarti of idol of Lord Jagannath. This is completely false because he has written against idol worhsip. Guru went to Jagannath and when he was invited to do aarti, guru said the universe itself, already is doing the aarti of Waheguru and there is no need of physical aarti of God or a deity. Some Sikh sect also do aarti which itself goes against SGGS. There are many references to aarti in SGGS but i am only quoting Guru Nanak here: Aarti: Page 13- ਰਾਗੁ ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ Raag Dhanaasaree, First Mehl: ਗਗਨ ਮੈ ਥਾਲੁ ਰਵਿ ਚੰਦੁ ਦੀਪਕ ਬਨੇ ਤਾਰਿਕਾ ਮੰਡਲ ਜਨਕ ਮੋਤੀ ॥ Upon that cosmic plate of the sky, the sun and the moon are the lamps.
